ABSTRACT

Combined cycle power plants utilize a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) to recover heat energy from gas turbine exhaust. Water inlet temperature to most HRSG’s is designed to be controlled to 140 F with stack exhaust temperatures around 180 F. Additional exhaust energy can be recovered by lowering the feedwater temperature. Attempts to recover latent heat energy from the exhaust will be discussed.
